Harnessing clean, affordable, and reliable energy to power communities, protect our planet, and create a better tomorrow. Three ways Rotary can expand clean energy:

Million Solar Panel Challenge (MSPC) brings solar energy to communities.

Providing clean energy solutions for homes and communities through affordable solar installations.

Building sustainable microgrid systems to empower rural communities in Uganda.

Our Impact Around the World

Habitat Solar Initiative: Powering Homes & Communities

Rotary partners with Habitat for Humanity to deliver affordable solar energy solutions directly to families and community projects. By integrating clean solar power into housing initiatives, this collaboration helps lower energy costs for low-income households, reduce carbon emissions, and foster long-term environmental and economic sustainability in communities worldwide.

Uganda Microgrid Initiative: Kyayi Parish Solar Project

In partnership with All We Are (AWA), local Kampala Rotary Clubs, and the Rotary Action Group for Community Economic Development, this pilot project brings clean, reliable solar electricity to the off-grid community of Kyayi Parish, Gomba District, Uganda. By powering home lighting, education, health clinic refrigeration, and small agricultural enterprises, the initiative replaces costly diesel generators, reduces carbon emissions, and establishes a financially self-sustaining microgrid model designed to be replicated across Sub-Saharan Africa and off-grid communities worldwide.

Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 7, we are committed to ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all by 2030. By powering off-grid schools, health centers, and homes through community-driven microgrids and solar partnerships, Earth Network Rotary Club is bridging the energy gap to build healthier, resilient, and economically empowered communities worldwide.

Built to last: Like all our projects, the Renewable Energy Initiative is designed with the 4-7-8-17 framework.
